![]() Gigantamax Pokémon stand out from Sword and Shield’s Dynamax forms, as only a select few Pokémon species have the ability. By holding a battle in a special location called a Power Spot, trainers can have their Pokémon grow to gigantic sizes and inflict devastating amounts of damage to their opponents. Gigantamax Pokémon were first introduced in 2019’s Pokémon Sword and Shield as a new type of battle mechanic similar to Pokémon X and Y’s Mega Evolutions and Sun and Moon’s Z-Moves. The leak also includes information suggesting Pikachu could be the first Pokémon in the game to receive Sword and Shield's Gigantamax ability. Eclipse admits they aren’t sure what this last image is supposed to signify, but the popular theory is that Gigantamax Pikachu will be made playable in the future - either as a separate character or some kind of special mode for the Pikachu, who is already in Pokémon Unite. The leaks include news that Tyranitar, Buzzwole, and Glaceon would be added to Pokémon Unite’s roster over the next couple of months, as well as a range of new Pikachu Holowear outfits.
